Day 35-Back in the saddle
So, I ended up taking an extra day off just to make sure my back is in good shape. Today, I'm gonna jump back into the workout, doing Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs. So, I will have ended up missing Legs/Back this week, but that's okay, considering I want to be healthy for the rest of this round. Yesterday, Lindsie and I were able to catch up with a bunch of friends who are either doing Beachbody workouts or are interested in beginning. It was really great to spread the knowledge we've acquired from doing these workouts and changing our diet/nutrition plans around. It's great to pay it forward!

Day 33-Injury day
So, my back is still feeling a little dicey today. Under the advice of my wife, I'm taking today as my day off instead of Sunday. I'll see how I feel in the morning. I will continue to ice and take ibuprofen for the rest of the night. Send good thoughts my way that I can start back up tomorrow!

Day 32-First injury
Yesterday for Back and Biceps, I pulled some heavy weight towards the top of the workout and was toast by the end. Today, my biceps were super achy and there was a twinge in my upper back. By the time I got home from the day, I was almost on the ground because it was so painful. After some stretching and deep breathing, it felt better, so I went ahead and did Cardio Recovery/Ab Ripper X. I definitely feel better, but will need a good night's sleep before I tackle legs and back tomorrow!

Day 30-Video requests?
So, I can see that some people are actually reading this blog! Very cool!
I haven't done a video in a bit, so I wanted to take requests-anyone have any questions/concerns with this workout or their own fitness journey right now? I'd love to take the time to answer in my next video.

PS-I was working an audition yesterday and the music director, who hadn't seen me in a couple of months, asked if i had lost some weight. I guess PNastyX is doing the job!!

Day 28-End of Month 1 results
Hey everyone,
I just finished the X stretch and ran my numbers for the month. The results are:
Weight-180.2
Body Fat %-7.91%
Lbs of body fat-14.26
Lean body weight-165.94
So far, so good! I'm pretty happy with these results thus far. This next month, I'm going to try to stay strict with the Insanity diet, as that has helped me achieve these results!

PNastyX Lean
So, today, I laid out a 90 day PNastyX plan closer to the P90X Lean program. What's more fun about it is that I did it for my wife, Lindsie! She is finishing her 3rd round (!) of Insanity and wants to do something different before she does INSANITY ASYLUM this summer! I'm excited about ASYLUM, but need to find a space to do it.
As far as where I am right now, I'm a few days out of Month 2, and I'm excited to change things up for my body. Not much changes except I go to the Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps/Back and Biceps routines, as well as adding Cardio Power and Resistance.
Weeks 1-3 look something like this:
Monday-CST (Chest Shoulders Triceps)
Tuesday-Cardio Power & Resistance/Abs
Wednesday-Back and Biceps
Thursday-Cardio Recovery/Abs
Friday-Legs and Back
Saturday-Pure Cardio/Abs
Sunday-X Stretch
I'm continuing to alternate Ab Ripper and Cardio Abs weekly. I'm thinking about throwing in some p90x plus abs or Insane abs at some point.
That's where I am now. Almost 1/3 of the way there. Broadway Bares is June 19...day 90! Getting closer!

Day 18
I've been thinking about the perks of doing these workouts (P90X, Insanity, PNastyX):
Working out efficiently (working harder in a smaller amount of time)
Compliments from others after seeing you for the first time in a while
Feeling better both physically and mentally
Sleeping better at the end of the day
No longer craving bad stuff all the time
Being an example for others
Just some random musings for today. Still going strong and hitting it hard this week. Next week is my first recovery week and I've built in some options for the week, but I'm thinking it's going to look like this:
Monday-Core Cardio and Balance
Tuesday-Core Synergistics
Wednesday-Core Cardio and Balance
Thursday-X Stretch
Friday-Core Cardio and Balance
Saturday-Core Synergistics
Sunday-X Stretch
Monday and Friday, I've given myself the option to switch to Yoga X or Cardio Recovery, as not to overload the core, we'll see what happens.

Old Results video from Insanity Round 1
This is a video I had made showing my results from the first P90X rounds and Insanity round 1. After the hybrid is over, I'll make another!
Week 3, Day 1
Hey everyone, I'm starting week 3 today, and again will be keeping things fresh and will do Chest/Back/Ab Ripper at home using the resistance bands and push up bars.
I've received a few questions I thought I'd take the time to answer for you all:
Was there a point when you were ready to quit? When specifically?
Yes. Everyday of Month 2 of my first round of Insanity. I kept thinking, "This is too hard. I can't do this." But I just made myself finish the workout, no matter what, even if i had to take breaks and press pause. The sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. It made me want to do better next time and get through without taking a break or by doing more reps of certain exercises. In my first 2 rounds of P90X, I didn't have that same feeling though, I enjoy lifting and resistance training much more, but that being said, Yoga X made me want to quit alot.
What kept you going?
Several things. First round of P90X, I was wanting to look good for my birthday and for Broadway Bares XX. Second round, I was wanting to improve on my first round results. First round of Insanity, I just wanted to finish the program-my wife Lindsie did it over the summer and really motivated me to do it. The second round, again, just wanted to improve on the previous round. This round of the hybrid, I have given myself very specific goals with weight and body fat, also to have my best physique ever for Broadway Bares XXI.
What was your mindset going in?
When I first did P90X, I was really wanting a workout to kick my butt. It was a very regimented workout that MADE me work out harder and more efficiently than I ever had before. I was tired of spending so much time at the gym and not seeing the results, so I felt I was taking a chance with P90X. Going into Insanity, I felt that it was workout that was so difficult that I wasn't sure if I was capable of completing it. It made me dig down and push myself harder than I ever worked out before. The results of these workouts are amazing and I am very excited about the progress I've made in the past year!
Keep the questions coming!
